BTarena, a 10,000-seat multipurpose hall owned by Cluj-Napoca City Hall, has an outdated lighting system based on gas-discharge lamps with very high energy consumption, which, in the context of rising prices, creates problems for the profitability of the event organizers. To reduce consumption, the city hall wants to purchase a modern LED night light.

The information came from an auction launched last month by Sala Polivalentă SA, whose shareholders are the Municipality of Cluj-Napoca (through the local council) and the Autonomous Directorate of Public Property of Cluj-Napoca.

What are the problems in BTarena due to the increase in the price of electricity?

For competitions that use a higher intensity of light, the current lighting system in the multi-purpose hall is not adequate, which is an obstacle for holding prestigious and well-known national and international sports competitions.

This is also a static system, since it is impossible to turn the light on and off instantly. No light games or shows may be held before, during or after events taking place in the hall.

In the current situation, to be able to hold large-scale sporting events, it is necessary to install some auxiliary lights to achieve the minimum and optimal requirements required by the organizers, something that is not possible in a hall of this scale and which he claims is the largest and most efficient in the country” .

To solve these problems, the multifunctional hall wants to purchase a new lighting system – a night lamp based on LED technology.

“The installation of a modern LED night light gives many advantages to players, spectators, participants of any sports or cultural and artistic events. As the sports themselves evolved and developed, so did the sports lights used to illuminate the playing fields.

The need to purchase a new lighting system is determined by factors such as an outdated system, reduced lighting intensity, high electricity consumption, and the inability to create certain lighting effects.
