Sold out personal doctors in the city complex Thessalonikiaccording to the Pharmaceutical Association of Thessaloniki (ΣΤΥ), resulting in citizens leaving pharmacies without choosing a personal doctor, or moving to a remote area or even to another municipality.
“The biggest problem in the urban complex of Thessaloniki. Currently, we cannot register citizens in the system due to the lack of doctors. We inform them that the Ministry of Health has decided to include other specialties in the system – in addition to pathologists and general practitioners – so that they can be served in the second year, ”said Dionysius, President (FTS). Eugenides
And he added: “Our fellow citizens remain idle and disappointed, and many are forced to look for a personal doctor much further, as, for example, in Thermi, Mihanionas or Koufalia, but even there the availability is constantly decreasing.”
Nikos Nitsas, president of the Thessaloniki Medical Association (ISTH), told APE-MPE that out of 600 general practitioners and pathologists registered with ISTH, only 140 have applied for a certificate to become a personal physician.
“I don’t know if all these 140 people have signed a contract with EOPYY to take on the duties of a personal physician. Of course they are few. The Ministry of Health announced the inclusion of a personal doctor and other specialties,” Mr. Nitsas added.
At the same time, he noted that ISTH stands for the freedom of choice of a personal doctor by a citizen, both from those who have contracted with EOPYY and from those who have not concluded a contract, and that he presented his position to both the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health. Health.
It is recalled that from the beginning of September, citizens can register with a personal doctor and through pharmacies. The process is free and takes only a few minutes. Citizens must bring their AMCA and an identity document such as a police card, which they present to the pharmacist.
