A friendly match between the youth national team of Romania and the similar national team of the Netherlands will take place on September 27 at 18:00 at the Cluj Arena, reports frf.ro. Initially, the match was supposed to take place at the stadium “Dr. Constantin Rădulescu” from the same city.

The lawn will be replaced at the ChFR stadium

The decision was made after the request of the club CFR Cluj to protect the playing surface and allow the entire process of turf treatment. The president of the champion Christy Balay spoke about this problem.

“I had a nasty surprise when I came back from Kosovo, I was shocked to see how the lawn looked when I got back to the country. In 5 days, he degraded incredibly. I called in the specialists and they said it was a disease and a combination of climate factors, and that’s why this disease has spread at a gallop over a large part of the earth, almost the whole earth.

All the medical measures that the specialists told us were carried out, we tried to get the maximum, people were at the stadium from morning to evening, which was reported to UEFA. I saw that Mirel Redoi was really disappointed in the match against Craiova, but you can’t deal with events that you can’t control, the weather is important.

We also have the youth Europeans and the break in the competition is the only opportunity to change the turf. UEFA allowed us, I hope that the FRF will also support us when we host the European Championship. From Monday, we will do everything in our power to replace the lawn” – Christy Balay on Digi Sport.

Romania’s U21 national team, coached by Emil Sandoi, will play another training game at the Cluj Arena against Spain on September 23 at 6 p.m.

Already purchased tickets for the match with the Netherlands will be transferred to a similar category at Cluj Arena.
