Clotilda Armand accuses PNL General Counselors of blocking the construction of an educational complex in the ANL Henri Coandă area. The mayor of Sector 1 claims that the local elected representatives of the NLM refuse to include the Zonal Urban Development Plan, without which it is impossible to build an educational complex, on the agenda.
“The political war waged by the leaders of the NLP against me has exceeded all limits. Liberal members of the general council are deliberately blocking the development of the Henri Coanda district and access to education for hundreds of children. This is how they understand the application of the “Educated Romania” project promoted by President Klaus Iohannis: students are forced to study far from home, travel a long way to the city every day, in heavy traffic, in order to have access to education,” the mayor wrote on his Facebook page Sector 1.
In this microdistrict, the City Hall of the 1st sector plans to build a modern educational complex with all amenities: a nursery school, a kindergarten, a school, a gym and a swimming pool. The opening of this education center would also solve the problem of overcrowding in some schools in Sector 1, says the Sector 1 mayor.
“In order to start this big investment, the General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest (CGMB) needs to approve the Zonal Urban Plan (PUZ). The modification project of the ANL PUZ “Henri Coandă”- Drumul Nisipoasa ensemble has been under public discussion since June 2022, but the PNL councilors refuse to put it on the CGMB agenda without reason. We have all the documentation ready for the start of the project, we have a contract for the feasibility study, in a few months we can have a designer and then we can quickly start the construction of this modern educational complex,” Clotilda Armand explained.
This requires putting the project on the agenda.
“Unfortunately, the general councils of the PNL condemn the residents of the neighborhood to live in the mud and without educational institutions near the house. I understand that they have been ordered to block all the projects initiated by the Mayor of Sector 1, I draw their attention that these petty political games should not in any way affect the future of our children, and I publicly request that this project be put on the agenda of the CGMB as a matter of urgency” – said Armand.
