Manchester City had a very difficult match against Borussia Dortmund but managed to win 2-1 in Champions League Group G thanks to the success of Erling Haaland, the striker who joined from the German side this summer.

Borussia opened the scoring through Bellingham (’56), but Pep Guardiola’s side prevailed with goals from Stones (’80) and Haaland (’84, with an acrobatic finish).

The Norwegian forward also explained how he managed to score against his former team: “I think I have very long legs, that’s how I got to the ball.”

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said that Erling Haaland reminds him of Johan Cruyff and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“Those who know me know what an impact Johan Cruyff has had on my life as a person, as a teacher, coach, mentor, like everything. Many years ago, he scored an incredible goal against Atletico Madrid. When Haaland scored, I thought about Cruyff, about his goal. It was about the same. A very good goal. Cancelo’s cross was exceptional.

I remembered my dear friend Ibrahimovic, who knows how to lift his leg to the level of the bar. So is Erling. He is springy, flexible and has the ability to make contact with the ball at any height and send it into the net” – Pep Guardiolaat the press conference.
