
Emma Reducanu, winner of the 2021 US Open, announced on Monday that she will compete in the 2022 Transylvania Open, a WTA 250 tournament, to be held in Cluj-Napoca (October 8-16).

Raducanu, who reached the quarterfinals of the pageant last year, said she enjoys every chance she gets to visit her father’s homeland.
“I felt very good last year in Cluj. The people were amazing and made me feel so good, so I’m super excited and excited to be back again this year. Every time I have the chance, I love to go back to Romania. My father is from there and I have many warm memories. I look forward to returning. See you” – Emma Radukanu.
After being eliminated in the first round by Alize Cornet at the 2022 US Open, Emma dropped to 83rd place in the WTA rankings.
The Transylvania Open (Cluj-Napoca) is part of the WTA 250 category, has a total prize pool of $251,750 and will feature 32 players at the start of the main draw. The competition will be held from October 8 to 16.
