
Food prices rose the most in August, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS), by 18.22% year-on-year. Non-food products rose in price by 15.98%, services by 8.2%.
The most expensive food products were:
Potatoes 54%, oil 49%, flour 34.2%, corn 31%, sugar 30%, butter 29.5%, bread 25%, margarine 25.9%, cheese 23%, cow’s milk 22%, sheep cheese — 21%, eggs — 20%, fresh fish — 18.6%, poultry meat — 17.9%, coffee — 16%.
Non-food products rose in price the most:
Gases by 70.6%, fuel by 31.4%, thermal energy by 22.9%, cosmetics by 6.5%, cigarettes by 6.2%.
Services:
Air transport by 33.9%, CFR by 20.9%, postal services by 15.96%, road transport by 12.66%, restaurants by 11%, rent by 5%.
According to the INS, the annual inflation rate rose to 15.3% in August from 14.96% in July.
