The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, during his speech on Saturday evening, warned that the “hardest winter in the whole world” is coming and it will be a test not only for Ukraine.

“This will be the hardest winter in the whole world. It will be 90 days that will be a test of our confidence in victory. A test of our stability and unity, the ability to protect ourselves, the whole world, freedom and fundamental values ​​for every person in the world. Russia is doing everything to defeat the resistance of Ukraine, Europe and the world in 90 days of winter. Because Russia is counting on it. This is her last argument. The last thing, I am sure of it: the cruelty of the winter period, which should help when the cruelty of man is lacking. And we must be ready – not to collapse, not to separate, not to deviate from our path. There are 90 days ahead, which will be more important than 30 years of Ukraine’s independence. 90 days, which will be more important than all the years of the existence of the European Union. Winter will determine our future and risks,” Zelenskyy said in his speech at the annual meeting of the Yalta European Strategy, a discussion forum on Ukraine’s European future and the global context, News.ro reports.

He expressed his confidence in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the special services and the entire people regarding the liberation of the Ukrainian territory, stressing that this requires weapons, ammunition, financial and political support, diplomacy, stronger than ever, determination at different levels of the world.

“We are grateful for everything you have done, but it will not be enough to win until there is a victory,” the Kyivan added.

“We have no doubt that we can survive the winter without Russian energy resources. Not only Ukraine, but all known European states. But for that to happen, you have to be prepared to prevent any Russian sabotage, whether military or political, and it is very important to prevent Russian disinformation efforts. And that’s why we need even greater coordination, firmness and pressure on Russia,” he continued.

“Let this winter be the hardest for Russia, for the one responsible for all the created problems”

Zelenskyi said that the world should overcome the price crisis, which Russia is trying to intensify with its well-known tools – to destabilize markets, cause hunger, and intimidate people.

“And you can protect yourself from this price crisis only by completely dismantling the Russian influence – the influence on European societies, on world markets and on the global information space,” – believes the president of Ukraine.

“We must prepare our societies, they must know the truth, the existing risks. The winter will be difficult for everyone – from Latvia and Poland to Great Britain and the USA. War is war. It exists in the world. Winter will be hard. But we can make this winter the most difficult for Russia, for the one responsible for all the created problems – military, social, price, energy and many others. After these 90 days, we can make the path to our victory clearer,” concluded Volodymyr Zelensky.
