
​Florin Hidisan, a former footballer who played more than 100 matches in the first league of Romania, has died at the age of just 40.
According to GSP, Hidishan has been battling a serious form of stomach cancer for the past year and the disease has worsened recently. The former athlete reached a weight of only 43 kilograms and could hardly tolerate chemotherapy sessions.
Over the past few months, several humanitarian appeals have been made for Hidishan in the hope that the necessary money will be raised for the former player to travel abroad for further treatment.

Born in Rymnik Vilca, Florin Hidisan played 107 games in Ligue 1 and scored 7 goals. The ex-midfielder also played 110 matches in the second division (scoring 8 goals).
Florin Hidisan played for some time for Industria Sarmei Campia Turzi, Internazionale Pitesti, FC Arges, Otopeni, FC Brasov, UTA Arad, Panduri Tirgu Jiu and University of Cluj.
