Prime Minister Nicolae Cuke says the government has discussed the possibility of rewarding Romanians who save energy, but there is currently no “technical solution”.
“We discussed this topic at the Government meeting on Thursday. We currently do not have a technical solution. Of course, these are measures that we have also thought about, and we encourage the public to reduce waste and that those who consume less, especially during peak hours, are rewarded, but we have not made a decision yet, because we are waiting, let’s have an agreed whole on levels of the entire Union, so that we can properly manage energy and gas next winter,” Nicolae Chuke said when asked if he believed that people who save electricity should be rewarded.
Regarding the possible separation of electricity tariffs from natural gas tariffs, the Prime Minister noted that Romania supports this initiative.
“The mandate was structured as best as possible: it referred to the part in which we support the proposal to separate the energy price from the gas price, a unitary solution from the point of view of taxation, and also a unitary solution from the point of view of its appearance. on the evolution of prices on the spot market, so that these price fluctuations do not occur,” said the leader of the liberals.
