In another match at Arthur Ashe, Carlos Alcaraz (3) managed to get the first victory over Francis Tiafoe (22 – the American won the first two matches in a row), after a “fight” lasting four hours and 20 minutes, scoring ( 6) 6-7, 6-3 , 6-1, (5)6-7, 6-3.

Carlos missed a match point in the fourth set (5-4, 40-30), but eventually won the deciding match without much trouble.

If he wins the US Open, Carlos Alcaraz will become the youngest world leader in ATP history (since 1973, when the world hierarchy exists).
