A new surreal moment happened on Russian television: Volodymyr Solovyov stated in his show on Rossiya-1 that Russians wage wars for peaceful purposes.
The discussion about Russia’s peaceful wars begins after the intervention of political scientist Dmitry Kulikov, who claims that “in the West they are now openly saying that they are planning years of armed conflict.” [în Ucraina]. From what I understand, we kept telling them to stop, “Don’t do it, it’s not worth it.”
Kulikov is interrupted by Volodymyr Solovyov, the host of the show on “Russia-1”, which is presented in the form of “debates”, intervenes, saying that “the main difference is between us and them.” [Occident] is that we still desire peace, but they demand our defeat.”
“As long as we fight wars in the hope of peace, unlike [obiectivul] final victory over the West, we will still have difficulties,” he adds.
More Orwellian moments where top Kremlin propagandists claim that Russia begged the West not to start this war (which Russia started after every Western leader urged Putin not to invade Ukraine).

Solovyov appeared on the show without bruises, which caused a flurry of ironies in social networks the other day.
He also appeared more relaxed compared to recent remarks at EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, whom he described as an admirer of Spanish dictator Francisco Franco, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who he said had Hitler as a model and idol.
In another long-winded monologue on another of his broadcasts in late August, he appeared to forget even official Kremlin propaganda, referring to a “war” rather than a “special forces operation” in Ukraine and saying it began in 2014, a reference to the separatist war in Donbas.
For years, the Kremlin has consistently denied that it supports pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine in any way, saying instead that they are “patriots” who are voluntarily fighting against Ukrainian “oppression.”
