TV presenter Volodymyr Solovyov, who is considered a favorite propagandist of President Vladimir Putin, says he is concerned about the progress of hostilities in Ukraine in a new image in which he can be seen with bruises on his face.

“However, I am worried. Of course, we would like ours to just move forward, but that doesn’t happen in life,” says Solovyov, adding that “there are many different things in science.”

“What matters is how it all ends,” he concludes.

Solovyov’s intervention is much quieter than a few days ago, when his outburst of anger at the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, horrified even the guests of his show.

“How dare you open your pathetic mouth to connect the words “fascist” and “Russia”? You support the Nazis in Ukraine! You are happy to see the Russians killed! You’re asking for it,” he said in a tirade provoked by Borrell’s alleged labeling of Russia as a fascist state.

However, the European official’s office has already clarified that his words were translated incorrectly.

At the end of August, the TV presenter reacted no less violently to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, whom he compared to Adolf Hitler, whom he repeatedly called the Berlin leader’s idol and role model.

Solovyov’s brief intervention of concern over the situation in Ukraine went viral on social media, with many netizens and foreign observers of the war launched by Vladimir Putin on February 24 instead focusing on the visible bruises on his face.

The situation was also noted by BBC journalist Francis Scarr, who called Soloviev’s comments to Olaf Scholz one of the most shocking moments he had seen on Russian television.

Scarr, who became known after the start of the war in Ukraine for his monitoring of Russian media and television, later released an update, saying that a Russian reporter called Solovyov and asked him what happened.

“You really don’t need to do anything else with your life? It’s none of your business!” – answered the TV presenter (it is unlikely that the British translation here could be more sophisticated than Solovyov’s real answer).

The BBC journalist also said that during Solovyov’s next intervention on live air, his bruises “magically” disappeared.

The unusual appearance of the Russian TV presenter caused a wave of irony in social networks, and many netizens assumed that alcohol was somehow involved. Others noted that Soloviev could have survived after falling from the window.

The comments of the Russian propagandist about the situation in Ukraine were made against the background of the fact that the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to recapture territories in the east of the country and continue the counteroffensive launched last week in the Kherson region, which began its 11th day on Thursday.
