
“Green light” for the beginning of tender procedures and the subsequent implementation of the construction of a single bike path – walking path from Kallithea to Voula“switched on” today after the signing of the relevant cooperation agreement by Attica Regional Governor Giorgos Patoulis and TAIPED Authorized Advisor Panagiotis Stampoulides.
The project, which received funding as it is already included in the Greece 2.0 National Recovery and Resilience Plan with a budget of 24.7 million euros, will be auctioned by TAIPED and built in the Attica region.
According to the region’s announcement, the scope of the “Athenian Riviera – City Promenade” project concerns the first part of the “Athenian Riviera” and in particular the consolidation of the urban coastline of the Prefecture of Attica through a single network of walking and cycling paths that extend from the municipality of Kallithea to the town hall of the municipality of Vari-Voulas -Vouliagmenis, crossing six municipalities (Kallitheas, P. Faliros, Alimos, Hellinikon-Argyroupoli, Glyfadas, Varis-Voulas-Vouliagmenis). The estimated total length is 13.5 kilometers.

The goal of the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, is to create a modernized free public space dedicated to pedestrians and cyclists throughout the Attica Basin. The intervention aims to improve the urban environment by improving the quality of urban space and attracting new functions of economic activity, while at the same time having a positive impact on the natural environment of urban centers, creating new jobs and achieving significant energy savings, which will lead to an economy with low carbon emissions.
On the occasion of the signing of the agreement, in his statements, the regional governor of Attica, Yorgos Patulis, noted the following: “Today is a very important day for our Attica. We have signed a cooperation agreement with P. Stampoulidis, TAIPED Authorized Advisor, which lays the foundations for the implementation of a symbolic project on the Attica Riviera – the construction of a single network of pedestrian and bicycle paths that stretches from SEF to Vouliagmeni. The project, which will be auctioned by TAIPED with the executive body of the Attica region and with the participation of the Ministry of Energy and the Environment, the relevant municipalities, as well as ETAD, will contribute to the further modernization of the coastal front of our Attica. If we also add the Faliriko Ormos regeneration projects implemented in the region, the regeneration in Elliniko and other projects with a strong sign of development, then we can talk about a coastal front that is changing radically and signals our readiness to move on to the next day of development. and prosperity in the wider region. I want to especially thank Mr. Stampoulidis for signing the contract today, which is the result of hard work and constructive cooperation between the worthy leaders of the region and TAIPED.
