The Russian military left the fortified position “Moscow” in the Kharkiv region in eastern Ukraine, as the Ukrainian military conducted a “tour” of equipment captured from the Russian army.
A Ukrainian military man, who represents the personnel, begins by demonstrating electronic warfare equipment “just captured from the Russian invaders,” then briefly reviews the remaining heavier equipment: “bombs and ammunition for all.”
The soldier then shows a bulletproof vest that doesn’t seem to have any real protection: “there’s nothing in it. Just foam rubber. It weighs about 1.5 kilograms. In other words, there is nothing in it.”

This part of the footage is reminiscent of another video released by the Ukrainian military in late August, in which they “cut open” bulletproof vests captured from the Russian military, revealing that they are actually stuffed with half-rusted pieces of metal.
“The Russians threw everything at their position. The position is called “Moscow”, which is ironic. The position of “Moscow” has been abandoned, what happened to “we have nowhere to retreat, Moscow is behind us”?”, the Ukrainian military ironically asks, apparently referring to the famous order 227 of the dictator Joseph Stalin during the Second World War.
During the fighting in Kharkiv, the “Moscow” position was captured.
“Now “Moscow” is captured, it is our “Moscow”, Ukrainian “Moscow”, – the military man ends the tour, without emphasizing that “all these goods are now ours”.
The video was taken in eastern Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, where Kyiv’s forces have carried out several attacks over the past two days as the Russian military moved units from here to Kherson to help defend the southern front in the face of Kyiv’s counteroffensive last Monday.
In the evaluation of the development of the war in Ukraine, published on Wednesday morning, the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain noted that in the last day, heavy battles were fought on 3 fronts: in the north, near Kharkiv; in the east in Donbas; and in the south in the Kherson region.
“Multiple simultaneous threats on a 500-kilometer front will test Russia’s ability to coordinate operational planning and reallocate resources among multiple force groups; Earlier in the war, Russia’s failure to do this was one of the main reasons for the poor performance of its armed forces,” the London-based Ministry of Defense said.
In their own assessment, military analysts from the Institute for the Study of War noted that the Ukrainian army took advantage of the counteroffensive in the Kherson region and the transfer of Russian troops to the south of the country to win back territories from Kharkiv.
