Screenwriter Francis Ford Coppola cast his sister Talia Shire and nephew Jason Schwartzman in his independent film Megapolis.
The film will star Shia LaBeouf, Katherine Hunter, Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker and others.
Production is scheduled to start this fall.
The film’s description reads: “The fate of Rome haunts a modern world unable to solve its own social problems in this epic tale of political ambition, reason, love and conflict.”
Francis Ford Coppola and Talia Shire collaborated on the 1972 classic The Godfather. The American actress was nominated for an Oscar for her role in the second part of the TV series The Godfather 2 in 1974.
Megapolis also marks a happy return to the big screen for LaBeouf, who recently refuted claims by Olivia Wilde that she fired him from Don’t Worry Darling, which he is directing.
The actor also faced allegations of physical and emotional abuse when his former partner, singer FKA Twigs, sued him.
The actor stated that the allegations were not true and said he was in an alcohol rehab program.
