According to EMY, from Thursday evening, unrest emanating from the west began, which will mainly affect northern Greece and partly also central Greece.
Intense phenomena will persist until Saturday morning (03/09/2022) with heavy rains and storms, mainly in northern Greece.
Thus, torrential rains and storms will affect Macedonia today, Thessaly from noon and northern Ionia and Epirus until late in the evening. On Saturday morning, heavy rains and storms will be limited to central and eastern Macedonia, eastern Thessaly, the Sporades, the northern Aegean and Thrace and will ease rapidly.
The phenomena will be accompanied high frequency of lightning, hail and occasional strong gusty winds. At the same time, the Northern Ionian and Thermaikos require special attention, where hydro turbines may also appear.
On the map above, which gives us the height of the rain on Friday afternoon, high values appear, except for the Thermaikos sea area, in Pieria, Larissa (eastern parts), N. Sporades and Halkidiki. Special caution from fishermen and swimmers.
Otherwise, everything will calm down from Saturday afternoon, and warm weather will prevail from Sunday, the atmosphere will become more stable, volatility will decrease significantly, and temperatures will drop.

On Friday, the weather is expected to worsen with heavy rains and storms mainly in the north of Greece, which will be accompanied by frequent lightning, hail and temporarily, during phenomena, increased gusty winds.
The wind will blow west-northwest with force 3 to 5 on the Beaufort scale.
The temperature will drop somewhat in the west and north and reach 31-32 degrees, and in some places in the east of the mainland – 33 degrees.
