“We are talking about a 64-year-old man with concomitant diseases who was in a serious condition in a state hospital,” the ministry said in a statement.
According to provincial health minister Luis Medina Cruz, a total of 11 people have shown similar symptoms, six are still being treated, three of whom are still hospitalized.
The agent that caused the pneumonia outbreak “is Legionella,” Argentine Health Minister Carla Vizzotti said at a press conference in Tucuman the day before, adding that the exact type of Legionella had been identified.
A total of 11 cases were identified, centered around a private clinic in San Miguel de Tucuman, the capital of Tucuman province.
