
The Gorzh Police Service for Combating Organized Crime, together with the prosecutors of DIICOT – the Gorzh Territorial Administration, caught a man red-handed transporting 93,780 tablets of the drug and 196,770 tablets of another drug (alprazolam and clonazepam), hidden in 5 cardboard boxes and stored in the car tablets worth 1 450,000 euros.

What else is evidenced by the statement of the Gorj Organized Crime Service:
- Also, 23,840 euros, respectively 5,850 lei, 5 mobile phones and 12 SIM cards were discovered and seized to make them inaccessible.
- The alprazolam and clonazepam substances contained in the detected drug tablets belong to the category of high-risk drugs, according to the table – appendix No. III of Law No. 143/2000 on the prevention and fight against illegal drug trafficking and consumption.
- The investigation revealed that at the direction of a Serbian citizen, a 32-year-old man from Gorj County traveled to Timis County and purchased 93,780 tablets and 196,770 tablets from the respective Serbian citizen.
- The 32-year-old man was accompanied by another man, 33, also from Gorz County, who was supposed to identify potential vehicles belonging to the Romanian police.
- The tablets were supposed to be hidden in a car, the final destination of which was Norway.
- Police officers specializing in the fight against organized crime stopped a Serbian citizen on his way out of the country through the Stamor Moravica checkpoint and found him with approximately €17,000.
- On August 31, DIICOT – BT Gorj prosecutors ordered the detention of three men suspected of crimes related to international drug trafficking and drug trafficking for 24 hours.
- Special support was provided by the Special Operations Department of the Romanian Police. The activity was supported by the organized crime police teams of Timisoara and Pitesti, Hunedoara District Police Inspectorate, Mehedinci and Vilce organized crime services, Gorj Special Action Service and Timisoara Regional Customs Administration.
