FC Botosani are set to get revenge on FC Argeş after Pitesti’s side blew up their place in the play-offs last season, beating them even in Moldova 2-1 in the last leg of the regular season.

FC Botosani suffered a dramatic defeat, their first of the season, in Drobeta-Turnu-Severin, 0-1 against Universitat Craiova after an extra-time goal.

FC Argeş made it two wins in a row, 1-0 away against CS Mioveni and 2-1 at home against Chindia Târgovişte, successes that moved the group from Trivale into 3rd place at the end of the 7th stage.

Andrii Prepelita, who was under threat of dismissal after the team “slipped” to 13th place, gathered spirit and was optimistic before the match in Botosani: “We will play a good match, after which we must take a point or points. We want to grow from match to match, to have consistency in results, the team is homogenizing, although we know that we will face a strong opponent.”

FC Botosani have won two of their last five head-to-head matches against FC Argesh, while Pitesti have won the other three.
