The estimated cost of the consolidation works for the two buildings is 49,671,265.13 lei excluding VAT, and the duration of the execution is 21 calendar months, of which 3 months for design and 18 months for intervention works.

Located at 18-20 Lipscani street, in a security zone, the building of the Bucharest Municipality Pinacoteca is a historical monument, known as the palace of the former insurance company Dacia.

The building, built at the end of the 19th century (period 1884-1888), suffered from earthquakes, so intervention was mandatory.

“There will be, among other things, foundation strengthening work, supporting structure, repair/strengthening work of steel beams of all floors, internal partitioning, restoration of electrical installations, internal and external finishing. It will be recalled that in January of last year the Ministry of Culture gave an approving opinion regarding the “consolidation, internal equipment, repair of the facade and restoration of installations of the Bucharest Pinacoteca”, the capital’s mayor’s office reported.

In the Dacia Palace you will find masterpieces from the collection of the Bucharest Art Gallery. As an integral part of the art department of the Bucharest City Museum, the Pinacoteca has constantly increased its heritage, which today consists of 2,543 works of Romanian and European painting, 402 works of sculpture, 87 works of decorative arts and 2,425 works of graphics.

Also at today’s meeting, the members of the general council approved the transfer of the Gheorghe Tattarescu Museum from the management of the Bucharest City Museum to the management of the Municipal Office for the Association of Buildings with Seismic Risk, so that this institution can start the procedures for seismic strengthening and energy recovery works.

The building of the Gheorghe Tattarescu Museum is located at Domnica Anastasia Street No. 1. 7, Sector 5, built in 1855 and included in the list of historical monuments.
