The General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest approved the working documentation and technical and economic indicators of the rehabilitation of the landscape of the Park Charles I. The investment is estimated at 47 million lei, almost 10 million euros. The park is one of the most beautiful and valuable in Bucharest, but in the last 20 years the city hall of the capital has invested very little here, so it has been constantly degraded.
The city hall will issue a construction permit, then get to work. The term of works is calculated for 3 years.
The project provides:
- revitalization and restoration of the dendroiogic background and green spaces
- repair of alleys and fences
- reconstruction of installations and networks of public and monumental lighting
- restoration, reorganization and replacement of city equipment, children’s and sports grounds
- reconstruction of bridges, fountains and pavilions
Carol Park has an area of 293,702 square meters and is a historical monument.
