The 24th favorite of the US Open, Amanda Anisimova, was considered by many experts to be one of the players capable of triumphing at Flushing Meadows. However, the American’s path to the last Grand Slam of the year stopped in the first round.

Ranked 38th in the world, Yulia Putintseva beat Anisimov in two sets with a score of 6-3, 6-3. The match on the stand lasted one hour and 22 minutes.

This season, Amanda worked with Darren Cahill, who even gave her advice before her head-to-head match with Simona Halep in the 2022 Wimbledon quarter-finals.
