The International Atomic Energy Agency announced Monday morning that it would inspect the plant this week and that a team of experts was heading to Zaporizhzhia, which has become the center of international concern as Ukraine and Russia accuse each other of threatening its safety. .

“Pressuring the Ukrainian side to stop the bombing can reduce military tension,” Kremlin spokesman Dmytro Peskov told reporters when asked what Moscow would like to do to de-escalate the situation at the nuclear power plant.

“All countries are obliged to put pressure on Ukraine so that it no longer endangers the European continent,” Peskov added.

Dmytro Peskov said that Moscow welcomes the mission at the Zaporizhia NPP and is ready to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency.

At the same time, Peskov clarified that Russia is not talking about the possibility of creating a demilitarized zone at the plant, as requested by the United States of America.
