According to police, the victim found an advertisement for a house for rent in a foreign city and contacted them by email.
Under various pretexts, the said person managed to convince the victim to make an electronic deposit of 1,400 euros as a down payment and a guarantee of the alleged rent, but this never happened.
The incident happened on August 1st. The Alexandroupolis security sub-directorate is conducting a preliminary investigation into the case.
