The Romanian coast is either too crowded or lacking in tourists. In both situations, people complain about prices, conditions, cleanliness, busy roads. Both situations also make you think twice before embarking on an escape to the sea.

However, there is a third option – to replace the sea coast with a place in or near Bucharest. We are talking, of course, about swimming pools and other places for recreation. So here are some recommendations for that.

About five years, at Therme (Calea Bucharest no. 1k) Sands of Therme, the largest city beach in Europe, opened. It has 30,000 square meters of beach with fine sand, 1,500 sunbeds, 600 palm trees, 40 olive trees, and the pools here cover 720 square meters and have a water temperature of 30 degrees.

Where else would you go to have a beach bar, beach barbecue, ice cream cafe, cocktail bar, two sand volleyball courts and one football field. The access fee here depends on the day, the degree of occupancy and the length of time you want to spend here.

But according to the simulation, on Saturday, the entrance to The Sands of Therme costs 129 lei. To find out more about the Therme’s other areas and facilities, as there are quite a few, please visit their website.

No at Corbeanca Estate (Corbeanca, Hipodromului 27) You won’t find a pool in the literal sense of the word, in fact, it is right at the entrance, but it is small and more decorative or for splashing for little ones or for one or two people.

However, it is worth going here for many other reasons. First of all, you will find a bistro that specializes in grills, hamburgers, ribs, and any other steak. It also makes Fezandatele de Mośie, a sous vide product that can be bought in several shops.

The terrace here is more than generous, stretching far beyond the former stables turned into a bistro. The stables have also been converted into a children’s play area and the estate continues to the lake with a lovely meadow where several areas are dedicated to the events that take place here.
