“There are already more than 600 settlements with restrictions, and these settlements suffer from a lack of water, because at some point the resources were used for something else – for irrigation, for example, in the garden, in the farm – but very often they dried up. to those rivers that fed some watersheds. There are more than 600 of them, of which about 400 do not have complete water supply systems. Others have water supply systems, but they are supplied only at certain times of the day,” the Minister of Ecology said on TVR on Thursday evening.

Tanchos Barna said that “water will become an increasingly valuable resource” and that statistics show there will be many periods of drought.

He emphasized the need to stop the phenomenon of desertification, creation of wet habitats and afforestation.

Tanchos also noted that Romania has a much better situation compared to countries like Greece, Spain or Italy in terms of water resources.
