According to the statement of the US Embassy in Ukraine, the US State Department has information that in the coming days Russia will intensify its efforts to strike the civilian infrastructure and state facilities of Ukraine.
“Russian attacks in Ukraine represent a constant threat to the civilian population and civilian infrastructure. The US Embassy urges American citizens to leave Ukraine immediately, using private ground transportation, if it is safe to do so,” Washington urges.
The security situation across Ukraine is extremely volatile and could deteriorate without warning. American citizens should remain vigilant and take appropriate measures to increase security awareness, the press release also emphasized, according to News.ro.
The Embassy of the United States of America in Ukraine has the following recommendations for American citizens in a combat zone:
If you hear a loud explosion or sirens go off, seek shelter immediately.
If you are in a house or building, go to the lowest level of the building with the fewest exterior walls, windows, and open spaces; close all doors and sit against an interior wall, away from windows or open spaces.
If you are outside, immediately seek shelter in a fortified structure; if this is not possible, lie on the ground and cover your head with your hands.
Find out about the location of the nearest refuge or protected area.
Follow the instructions of local authorities and seek shelter immediately in the event of a fire caused by mortars and/or rockets.
Follow local and international news and news channels on social media regularly.
Make sure your travel documents are valid and available.
