How did the tragic incident happen?

At 6:10 p.m. Thursday, as the 51-year-old man stood in his two-wheeler at the traffic lights on Demokratia Avenue, at the height of the Cretan oven, waiting for the green light to continue on to Heraklion.

Suddenly, a huge pine tree behind the stove collapsed, blocking both streams of the avenue. A pine fell onto a motorcycle and pinched a 51-year-old man who died.
