This morning, tensions reigned in the Eleonas migrant camp.
In particular, at 08:30 EL.AS. was called to the scene, as a group of 15-20 people gathered at the entrance to the camp and did not let the workers into it.
During the dispersal of the crowd, tensions arose with the police, who, according to APE-MPE, delivered five people.
It is noted that the refugees who still live in the building are asked to stay in the camp until housing in apartments within the urban area is provided.
They are also demanding the renewal of the contracts of staff members who, until recently, provided them with psychosocial and legal services.
Evacuation
A Ministry of Immigration and Asylum bus pulled up to the camp early yesterday morning to pick up 21 people for transport to the Schistos camp as part of the Eleonas evacuation operation.
Their transfer was accompanied by incidents and the intervention of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Eleonas’ KYT is scheduled to close by the end of the year.
