A 55-year-old man, a resident of the area, who was found with his car on Peristeras Hill near the city, threatened to commit suicide by falling from a great height, prompted a large mobilization of the authorities, late Tuesday afternoon, in the Ierapetra area.
The police, fire brigade and coast guard arrived at the scene.
According to Cretalive, EL.AS. sent a confidant of a man from his friendly environment. The latter convinced him to get into the car, leave the scene and go to his home, from where the police would pick him up.
According to the same sources of information, the man was intoxicated.
