
A teacher from the National College “Mircea Cel Bătrân” in Ramnik Valcea says that she participated in an online discussion with the Minister of Education Sorin Campanu, who visited the high school where she teaches, and that although she asked several times, he did not allowed to ask him questions. She criticizes Cîmpeanu for the proposed changes to the education laws, as well as for the attitude during the debate: “(…) While the principal lady in the room was addressing you, you were on the phone. Antoinela Forkanan is a computer science teacher at the National College “Mirche-Sel Brana” in Ramnik Valze and reported on Facebook how she had a meeting with the Minister of Education, Sorin Campani, who visited the high school where she teaches.
She had some questions prepared for the Minister of Education, but says she was not allowed to address them, so she posted a message on Facebook to Sorin Cîmpeanu:

- I am a teacher at the “Mireia Old” National College in Ramnik Valzei, where you came yesterday, and noted another meeting from the ones you planned.
- I attended this meeting online and, like other online colleagues, I was not allowed to ask you questions despite my repeated requests. I received a message instructing me to relay my questions to the representatives in the room, but it didn’t specify who exactly. I saw that you were applauded and congratulated in the hall, but I did not understand why.
- I had several aspects that I wanted to bring to your attention, but I will focus on a few of them in this post:
- 1. Why did you agree in the new ROFUP to refuse degelation?
- What will happen to those students who commit “serious” actions and who may become a danger in the school? Do we, as teachers, accept and review their behavior?
- I’m on a consultation, but it’s also limited. I hope I’m not wrong!
- 2. I have not meditated with any student in 9 years, school or not, but I find your point about meditating with classroom teachers to be incorrect. Why
- What happens to those very good students who don’t want meditation because they struggle with a particular subject but want more than what the school curriculum offers them. Satisfied with the teacher in the classroom, they would like to work with him privately as well, but they are not allowed to do so. What happened? Volunteering as a teacher? This is how we found out that teachers can work overtime without getting paid? Is something similar happening in Romania, in another industry? We hope that this idea has passed, as long as we live in a society where any information or service provides a means of money.
- Ultimately, every parent has the right and power to choose what is best for their child’s future.
- If we go to the State Hospital, to a certain doctor, I understand that it is not right to also go to his private practice? Or here you can. I, the patient, choose my money to see a doctor I consider good for me. As a parent, why don’t you let me choose the teacher I work with privately, also at my own expense? Who scared you?
- I know that every forest has its own dryness, but I also know that back then we cut all the dry, not the whole forest.
- You said yesterday at the meeting that you would never allow parents to tell us what to do, but with these “initiatives” you are proving otherwise.
- 3. If there is a list of 10,000 professionals, why don’t you make it public? What would be hidden? Are we not talking about transparency? They do not want to take on the aberrations of the new law? Well, let them do it, because they are paid very well.
- There are many teachers who participated in Erasmus projects, held in countries where the education system is created in honor and works very well. Have you consulted with them? Are they among your specialists?
- 4. Is the idea of eliminating the Romanian language as a separate test from the bachelor, but keeping one of the mother tongue first for you?
- 5. If we are still talking about several profiles and specializations in high school, don’t you think it’s okay to keep a mandatory, separate test, the one related to the specialization?
- 6. I am a computer science teacher, but I support mandatory physical education and sports classes, because I think about the health of our children, who, sitting for hours at a desk without moving, gain weight, change the shape of their spine, raise the level stress … and various diseases develop from this.
- 7. If you are a teacher, you should realize the importance of psychopedagogy, methodology and pedagogical practice carried out before coming in front of students and starting to “model” them. But what are you doing? Do you allow someone with a college degree to teach? Do you care about children? It is not enough to be a good specialist in this field, it is important to have these methods and techniques to give to your students, and not everyone does this. Then it’s okay to evaluate and sometimes judge people who don’t work in the system, if that’s what you say.
- These are just a few of the many points I’d like you to clear up, but I don’t know if you’re paying attention.
