On the subject of a dramatic case with refugees on his island Evros its headquarters restored Greek policeagain giving explanations about his actions, and in a new published statement, he reiterates that the investigation shows that the point mentioned in the complaints is outside the territory of Greece, and twice informed the Turkish authorities about this.

“With regard to the publications of the Greek Police Headquarters on the presence of immigrants on the islet of Evros, the following is clarified: Since the first moment of the appearance of information about the possible presence of immigrants on the islet of Evros, the Greek police have carried out successive investigations, as well as, whenever possible, technical means, without detecting the presence of a person.

At the same time, the coordinates were transferred to the competent services of the Armed Forces, which indicated that this was a point outside the territory of Greece.

Subsequently, ELAS held two briefings for the Turkish authorities in Captain Andreevo on trilateral cooperation.

It should be noted that every day and at all times, the ELAS forces protect the Greek and European borders and, of course, human life, which is of paramount value.”
