The 4×100 m relay consisting of David Popovich, Patrick Sebastian Dina, George-Alexandru Stoyk-Konstantin and Mihai Gergeli could not make it to the finals of the European Swimming Championships in Rome.

The Romanian relay took 12th place in the semi-finals with a time of 3:17.94.

Also on Sunday, Aleksandra Viktoritsa Bohdaneci failed to qualify in the semi-finals of the 100-meter butterfly, while Andriy Mircha Angel managed to qualify in the penultimate stage of the 50-meter backstroke at CE Swimming.

Bogdăneci got a time of 1.01. 46, being the last in series 3, with insufficient time for the semi-finals.

At the distance of 50 meters on the back Andriy Mircha Angel took fourth place in series 5 with a result of 25.37 and with the 13th time entered the semi-finals.

The semi-finals will take place on Sunday evening.

Davyd Popovichi, second place at the distance of 200 m freestyle

David Popovici qualified for the 200m freestyle semifinals at the European Swimming Championships in Rome on Sunday. The Romanian got the second time of the series.

Hungarian Kristof Milak showed the best time of the heats, ahead of David Popovici (1:46.87).

The semi-finals will take place on Sunday evening at 19:11 live on TVR1.

David Popovici won the gold medal in the 100m freestyle at the European Senior Swimming Championships in Rome. In this race, the Romanian also set a new world record (46.86).
