Digitization Minister Sebastien Bourduilla said he signs “mountains of documents” on paper every day, but he also says he signed an agreement to implement the government cloud in electronic form. Burduja said that in Romania we will not get rid of the railway file in the near future.
When asked on Digi24 on Saturday if he signs documents on paper at the Ministry of Digitization, Sebastien Bourduya explained that he does it every day.
“Mountains (I signed the paper documents – I didn’t). This is how I start my day every morning. I enter this ministry and find piles of documents that I sign. We also signed in electronic form, we also signed the government cloud implementation agreement, we signed it in electronic form, but with regard to document flow, the ministry currently does not have a platform to manage this document flow. We posed this problem from the first day, how can you be in the Ministry of Digitization and go through papers all day?” Burduya said, according to News.ro.
“The problem is not in the will of the minister, but in the ability of the civil servant to work online and sign these documents electronically”
The Minister of Digitization clarified that the document circulation platform will be available in the near future.
“A platform for managing these documents should be made, traceable, with numbers, days for each individual direction. The Ministry has a rather primitive solution, we will try to implement it in the near future. I proposed to put it into effect from August 1. I also suggested July 1 before. But the problem itself is not only in the will of one minister or the will of another, but in the availability of a civil servant to work online and sign these documents electronically,” Burduya stressed.
He added that in the near future we will not get rid of the railway file.
“I get this question every day, when are we going to get rid of the railroad file? It will happen in years, it will not happen immediately. For the government cloud, the migration of 30 central-level government institutions should be done by the end of 2026, this is the goal foreseen in the PNRR,” said Sebastian Bourduya.
