During the arrest of five defendants in four different cases of illegal transportation immigrantsyesterday, on Monday, the authorities continued in the Rhodope and Evros regions.

The first arrest of a foreigner who smuggled six immigrants took place on the Egnatia Komotini-Xanthi road, the second on the old Komotini-Xanthi national road, where a citizen who smuggled five immigrants was arrested, and the third on the Komotini road. – Xanthi provincial road, where a foreigner was seen driving an IXF vehicle and ferrying five migrants inland. In the last two cases, those arrested did not have a driver’s license.

In the fourth case, on a rural road in Evros (Avada-Kirkis heights), police officers detained two citizens, as they were seen in an IXE car, a car that had previously delivered another car (IXF car) to the scene, which was hijacked by an unknown criminal who escaped arrest , while he had previously illegally boarded it with five immigrants.

Those arrested will be taken to the competent prosecutor’s offices, while the preliminary investigation in four cases is being carried out by the border guards of Iasmos Rodopi and Soufliu-Alexandroupolis.
