Veterinary health inspectors issued fines worth more than 2.8 million lei after inspections carried out as part of the “2022 Summer Season Team” from June 27 to August 8, the National Veterinary, Sanitary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) announced on Tuesday.

According to the source, 1,314 retail and catering establishments were inspected out of 1,331 on the ANSVSA list. As a result of the inspections, 283 fines in the amount of 2,807,600 lei were issued, as well as a decision to ban activities and four other temporary suspensions.

1107.3 kg of food products (meat, fish, fish products, culinary products) were also seized.

Violations revealed as a result of inspections: direct sale of food products in unauthorized and veterinary sanitary premises; improper packaging and labeling of food products for the purpose of storage and disposal, as well as their unlabeled sale in accordance with current legislation; improper sanitary and hygienic conditions in production facilities; improper storage of food products; sale of expired food products.
