The Emmy-nominated American actress, known for her roles in Gracie’s Choice and Gone, was hospitalized and is in critical condition after the car she was driving crashed into a Los Angeles home that subsequently caught fire, informs DPA/ TCA on Saturday.
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) reported a crash on South Walgrove Avenue early Friday morning. According to a post on the official Twitter account of the fire department, a seriously injured person was rescued and hospitalized.
According to a message on Twitter, 59 firefighters arrived at the scene and it took 65 minutes to extinguish the fire.
The LAFD said on its website that “an adult female found inside the vehicle was transported by LAFD medics to a ‘neighboring hospital’ in serious condition.” No other injuries were reported.
The department did not release Hechey’s name, but celebrity news site TMZ reported that witnesses saw Hechey driving a blue Mini Cooper in their neighborhood.
Along with video footage and photos from the scene, the website reports that Heche first entered the apartment building’s garage. Before residents could help her out of the car, she reversed and drove off, according to TMZ. Soon after, Hachi reportedly crashed his car into a nearby home and started a fire in Mar Vista, a neighborhood in West Los Angeles.
In a photo released by TMZ, Hachey is sitting in the driver’s seat of a Mini Cooper, while video shows the driver being rescued after the crash and placed in an ambulance. In the pictures, the person was covered while lying on a stretcher.
A representative of the actress Ann Hatch refused to comment on this topic in connection with the Los Angeles Times (source: Agerpres).
