Meteorologists on Saturday announced a yellow code warning for the period August 6-9 for most of the country with temperatures up to 37 degrees.

“On Saturday and Sunday (August 6 and 7), a heat wave will persist in most of the country, thermal discomfort will be high, locally the temperature and humidity index (ITU) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. On Monday and Tuesday (August 8 and 9), the heat wave will narrow to the southern and southeastern regions. The maximum temperature will generally range from 33 to 37 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature will not fall below 18…21 degrees,” the National Academy of Sciences reports.

On Saturday and Sunday, for a short time and in limited places with manifestations of atmospheric instability. At the beginning of next week, atmospheric instability will intensify and will manifest itself in larger areas in the northwestern half of the territory.

In Bucharest, the heat will persist, and on Monday and Tuesday (August 8 and 9) it will intensify a little. Thermal discomfort will remain high, and the temperature and humidity index (ITU) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units.
