
A police officer from the Internal Affairs Control Corps was arrested by DNA prosecutors on charges of accepting a bribe of 15,000 lei from a person to whom he promised in return to help her solve her legal problems.
According to DNA, Daniel Ciprian Asanache-Damian, who at the time of the incident was working as a police officer in the Internal Affairs Control Corps, was detained for 24 hours for abuse of influence and is to be taken to Bucharest. Court with a proposed preventive measure in the form of arrest for 30 days.
Prosecutors say that, as a police officer of the Internal Affairs Control Corps, the man repeatedly demanded various sums of money from the man, leading her to believe that because of the influence she had with some police officers, she would force them to solve his legal problems.
On August 3, 2022, the man received the sum of 15,000 lei from the relevant person, the prosecutor’s office organized a loud action, DNA reports.
