In a statement issued on Wednesday following the visit to Taiwan by Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, the Chinese Embassy in Bucharest said:

“There is only one China in the world.

Taiwan is an integral part of the territory of China.

The Government of the People’s Republic of China is the only legitimate government representing all of China.”

The publication caused more than 1,300 reactions and hundreds of comments, the vast majority of which were negative. By comparison, the posts that the Chinese Embassy in Bucharest usually publishes on its Facebook page generate a few dozen reactions and sometimes a few comments.

“Bah, if you’re at war with the Americans, you’re at war there at home, not all of us here in Europe. And so that it does not affect the order on AliExpress, so that we can also take each other…”

“You will soon be loved like a Russian!”

“One China, the one on the island, the other on the mainland, we can call Western Taiwan…”

There, there is a little panda. He blew your bluff and now you’re all pumped up. If Taiwan bothers you so much, why not boycott their microchips?

“Yes, indeed, there is only one China, just as there is only one Taiwan :)))”

“Did a comedy club open at the embassy?”

“So abidas, redbok and mike run MSI, ASRock, TSMC, MediaTek??? Down with communism!”

“With the exception of the island of Taiwan, which represents the part of the Chinese people that is freely developing, living in freedom. It shows what China could look like if it were not a totalitarian state.”

China has begun unprecedented military exercises around Taiwan

China’s People’s Liberation Army has begun military exercises, including firing live ammunition in the waters and airspace around the island of Taiwan, a day after Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan, according to an announcement on Chinese state television. Training should end on Sunday at 12 o’clock at night.

Taiwan charges that the exercises violate UN rules, invade the island’s territorial space and represent a direct challenge to free air and sea navigation.

More than 20 Chinese warplanes entered Taiwan’s air defense space during a visit to the island by the speaker of the US House of Representatives after Beijing announced the start of “targeted military exercises” around Taiwan.

Beijing announced it was suspending imports of citrus fruits, chilled swordfish and frozen horse mackerel from Taiwan starting Wednesday.

China’s Ministry of Commerce also announced that exports of natural sand to Taiwan will also be suspended from Wednesday.
