Kia is launching the all-new EV6 GT, an all-electric high-performance crossover SUV built for a new era of sustainable mobility. As Kia’s most powerful production vehicle to date, the EV6 GT offers amazing performance, premium long-distance capability that combines exceptional space with unparalleled comfort, ultra-fast charging technology and an impressive real range for comfortable rides.

The expressive exterior design of the EV6 GT features a range of sporty touches and aesthetic enhancements that hint at its outstanding performance. Inside, passengers are greeted with a modern and comfortable space that has all the technology a driver and passengers could need, further enhancing safety, connectivity and entertainment at every stage of the journey.

Based on Kia’s advanced Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV6 GT delivers class and touring performance, giving the revived Kia halo status. The EV6 GT combines a 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 260 km/h with a range of 424 km and the ability to charge from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes.

In addition to dynamic performance, the EV6 GT also offers dynamic driving and handling characteristics that create a feeling of constant contact with the road. High-performance brakes, redesigned steering and an optimized suspension dramatically improve handling and confidence, while an advanced drive mode select system allows drivers to customize their driving style for optimal control in a variety of conditions.

Kia EV6 GT is already available for order. Its production will begin in September, with the first deliveries to Europe scheduled for the end of 2022.

The design of the EV6 GT represents something special in the crossover segment, with a distinctively striking body with many high-tech features, as well as a level of performance unparalleled in a Kia electric vehicle. At the heart of the EV6 GT’s styling is Kia’s “Merge Opposites” design philosophy, inspired by the contrasts between nature and man. The “Power to Progress” design philosophy perfectly matches the sporty character of the GT, combining power and speed with contrasting elements, resulting in a truly innovative shape.

The front end of the EV6 GT immediately makes a strong visual impression. Kia’s Digital Tiger Face signature style includes adaptive LED headlights and dynamic turn signals, while the muscular fenders and hood with their clean lines give the EV6 GT a dynamic look. A new GT-specific front bumper accentuates the car’s width, creating a sense of stability.

The EV6 GT’s aerodynamic profile features a set of bold character lines that add power and clarity, while a strong roofline and steeply sloping C-pillars create an elegant crossover silhouette. The high performance is evident thanks to the 21-inch alloy wheels, while the impressive brake calipers showcase the GT’s stopping power. At the rear, a spoiler lip, bright LED taillights, a unique bumper and diffuser complete the GT’s transformation.

Driver-centric interior

The interior of the EV6 GT combines sporty style with comfort and practicality. Passengers are greeted by a set of suede-trimmed bucket seats that provide ample support during fast rides and comfort over long distances. Metallic GT logos and green details give them a modern and high-tech look. The interior of the EV6 GT is made from premium materials and sports accents create a dynamic feel.

The infotainment system’s dual curved 12.3-inch screens provide absolute clarity for all driving, connectivity and entertainment functions. The simple design language of the widescreen and instrument panel gives the interior a high-tech feel. The ergonomic dual-spoke steering wheel features GT’s exclusive driving mode selector, allowing drivers to easily access and customize their driving experience.

The interior design uses Kia’s specially developed E-GMP platform. Despite the EV6 GT’s compact exterior dimensions, the 2900mm wheelbase and flat floor create an interior comparable to that of many mid-size SUVs, making for a great touring experience.

The EV6 GT offers a smart and versatile interior configuration and plenty of storage space, as well as 480 liters (VDA) of luggage space with second-row seats installed. With the second-row seats folded down, the trunk volume increases to 1260 liters. The car also has a front trunk that provides an additional 20 liters of storage space.

High performance transmission system

The EV6 GT’s high-performance all-electric twin-motor powertrain is specifically designed to deliver an unimaginable driving experience. A front-mounted 160 kW (218 hp) electric motor is paired with a second rear-mounted 270 kW (367 hp) motor for a total output of 430 kW (585 hp) and 740 torque. Nm. The drive is transmitted to all four wheels, ensuring optimal dynamic performance even in the most difficult conditions.

The power and traction provided by the EV6 GT drivetrain delivers instant yet progressive performance. The GT accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 260 km/h. An electronically controlled limited slip differential (e-LSD) provides superior cornering grip and stability by automatically distributing torque to the wheels with the most traction. The highly sensitive braking system enhances the feeling of confidence and safety behind the wheel. Front (380mm) and rear (360mm) ventilated disc brakes provide superior stopping power, while a linear pedal feel adds confidence.

The EV6 GT’s large 77.4 kWh battery and 800V fast charging capability provide an especially long range of 424 kilometers and the ability to charge from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes. The combination of sporty vehicle performance, long range and ultra-fast charging makes the EV6 GT a truly exciting and powerful GT.

Along with the existing Eco, Normal and Sport driving profiles, GT Drive Mode automatically optimizes the electric motors, brakes, steering, suspension, e-LSD systems and stability control (ESC) to their most dynamic settings for an extremely exciting driving experience. Drivers can also customize each system to suit their preferences via My Drive.

The EV6 GT’s steering system has been tuned specifically for dynamic driving by maximizing steering sensitivity for improved and direct feedback. The GT’s Electronically Controlled Suspension System (ECS) provides agility and comfort through constant damping control. Kia’s top priority when setting up the suspension was to give true GT character by combining superior comfort at high speeds without sacrificing the pleasure of fast driving. As a result, the EV6 GT’s driving performance remains uncompromising at all speeds, and the chassis is perfectly balanced when slowing down or accelerating.

In Eco and Normal driving modes, body control when cornering and decelerating is excellent, and as speed increases, the steering becomes heavy. If the driver selects Sport or GT mode, body control becomes tighter and driving becomes sportier, creating a more immersive experience. Despite this, Kia’s engineering team ensured that the ride remained comfortable in whatever driving profile the customer chose, and GT mode remained progressive, safe and stable over long distances and at high speeds.

While extremely comfortable, the EV6 GT offers the driver unrivaled control for a truly immersive experience. In addition, the driver can disable the vehicle’s ESC system to induce oversteer, while the exclusive Drift Mode sends a higher percentage of power to the rear wheels for a pleasant side-slip.

Super Fast Fast Charging

With extremely fast charging speeds, the EV6 GT makes it easy to travel long distances thanks to access to a dedicated charging network. Kia’s investment in IONITY, an integrated network of powerful chargers in Europe, offers drivers hassle-free fast charging. With access to over 400 charging stations in 24 European countries, with one charging point per 120 km of the European motorway network, and with 100% clean energy, drivers can enjoy a reliable and sustainable fast charging experience. Kia’s partnership with Digital Charging Solutions (DCS) also gives drivers access to more than 320,000 additional charging points. Users can easily manage invoices and payments for IONITY and DCS providers through the easy-to-use Kia Charge app.

Further enhancing usability, the EV6 GT’s Integrated Charge Control Unit (ICCU) offers a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charge function that can use power from the vehicle’s battery. The V2L mode can provide power up to 3.6 kW and can, for example, provide power to run a 55″ TV and air conditioner simultaneously for more than 24 hours. In addition, if necessary, the system can charge another electric vehicle.
