
Starting from August 15, residents of Bucharest will no longer be able to park without prior payment, failure to comply with this rule will result in a fine of 200 lei and the blocking of the car.
Such an event was recently announced by the capital’s mayor’s office:
- “Civilized behavior in municipal parking lots protects you from fines.
- Please park regularly and pay for public parking in advance.
- Starting from August 15, non-compliance with these rules entails the risk of a fine of 200 lei/day and immobilization of the vehicle until the payment obligation is lifted.
- Park legally and avoid a fine!”.

Parking from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. costs 10 lei per hour, respectively 5 lei per hour in zone zero and zone 1, respectively.
So, for zone zero, one hour of parking costs 10 lei, for zone 1 – 5 lei, and for zone 2 – 2.5 lei per hour.
In addition, according to the City Hall, there are several types of subscriptions, and residents can use subscriptions with or without reservation of a parking space, 24/7, in each of Bucharest’s tariff zones 0, 1 or 2. Individuals can choose a subscription for a day, a week , month, semester or year for each of the 0, 1 or 2 zones of the capital.
The subscription price for individuals is as follows:
- Zero zone: one-day pass (07.00 – 23.00) – 75 lei/day. Subscription for a week – 300 lei. Subscription for one month – 1050 lei. Subscription for the semester – 5250 lei. Annual subscription – 9,450 lei.
- Zone 1: one-day passes – 38 lei, 150 lei/week, 525 lei/month, 2625 lei/semester and 4725 lei/year
- Zone 2: one-day passes – 15 lei, 60 lei/week, 210 lei/month, 1050 lei/semester and 1890 lei/year.
Those with a zone zero pass can also use parking spaces in zones 1 and 2, and those with a zone 1 pass can also use parking spaces in zone 2.
In order to obtain a pass, residents (people who own cars and live on the street where public parking is located) must present an identity card confirming that they live on the street for which they wish to obtain a pass and a vehicle. a registration certificate proving that the vehicle is his or her own, or a copy of the lease agreement for an individual to prove that the applicant is the owner of the vehicle being used. To be able to provide this type of subscription, the address on the registration certificate must match the address on the bulletin.

Legal entities, in turn, have the opportunity to issue a season ticket without reserving a parking space for one day, one week, one month, one semester or one year for each of zones 0, 1 or 2, in the time interval of 07:00. -23:00 or for subscriptions with a parking space reservation, lasting one month, one semester or one year, 24/7.
