A new feature that will allow iPhone and iPad to create a digital copy of their owner’s voice has been revealed Apple.
Personal Voice, which is expected to be included in iOS 17, will work with the Live Speech feature, allowing users to record their voice and communicate with others in audio calls or on platforms such as FaceTime.
Synthetic voice in 15′
Users will be able to create their own personal voice by reading a set of random texts and recording their voice within 15 minutes on an iPhone or iPad.
The Live Speech app then allows them to type messages into devices that are read aloud.
If users have created a personal voice model, they can play messages with their voice – otherwise, the “voice” of the digital assistant Siri will be heard.
This new feature is one of many new tools that will be available soon, throughout 2023, on Apple devices. aims to help people with specific diseases β such as ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), which gradually leads to loss of voice, among other things.
βAt the end of the day, the most important thing is to be able to connect with friends and family. If you can tell them you love them in a voice that sounds like your own, that makes a huge difference. And being able to create your own synthesized voice on your iPhone in just 15 minutes is amazing,β says Team Gleason board member Phillip Green, who experienced significant voice changes in 2018 after being diagnosed with ALS.
