Google co-founders DeepMind and LinkedIn have created an artificial intelligence chatbot called Pi, which will join a lineup of similar products such as Google’s Bard and OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Pi users will be able to chat with the chatbot one-on-one, either through the app or via WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook.
Inflection AI CEO Mustafa Suleiman said the chatbot has been tested by users for several months, making it safe and easy to use. Inflection AI startup founded by Suleiman, Karen Shimoyan and LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman.
“There are a lot of things Pi can’t do. He doesn’t make lists or codes, he doesn’t make travel plans, he doesn’t write your marketing strategy or homework,” he told the Financial Times. “It’s meant for casual, informative conversation,” he said. “It helps a lot in your research,” said Suleiman, who was one of the three founders of DeepMind, founded in the UK in 2010 and bought by Google for £400 million in 2014.
However, Inflection has already hired AI experts from various competitors including OpenAI, DeepMind and Google. Earlier this year, the company was in talks to raise up to $675 million from investors.
