November is on the “border” between autumn and winter, but in some years in the first decade the temperature can exceed 25 degrees, and at the end of the month there is sometimes sleet or even snow. When and where was +19 C in the morning? When did the record snow fall, and when was the “May” weather? It is worth noting that in recent years, November has always started with great heat.

Timeline of the months of November with exceptional weather

1888 year

November brought a record for Bucharest: -18.8 C.

1915 year

November was a very cold month: -27.4 degrees in Georgen and -20.1 degrees in Brasov.

1922 year

In Timisoara, it was -15.4 degrees Celsius, a record still valid today.

1926 year

The absolute record for November is this year: in Calarasi on the first day of the month it was +30.5 degrees. Also at that time it was +30.2 degrees in Botosani, +28.5 in Alexandria and +26.9 in Brasov. Many records for the 11th month of the year date back almost a century: +29 in Iasi, +27.1 C in Timisoara, +29.3 in Bucharest and +26 in Cluj. And it was super hot in the Republic of Moldova: +30 degrees in Dubasary on November 1.

1927 year

It was +25.5 degrees in Constanta.

1937 year

In Drobeta-Turnu-Severin, the precipitation record for the 11th month of the year was set: 357.9 mm, of which almost 150 mm fell in one day (6th).

It was +13.6 degrees at Omu Wharf.

1948 year

It was -22.3 C in Cluj, and -26.5 C in Intorsur Buzeului.

1953 year

It was -12.8 degrees in Constanta

1957 year

In Vf Omu on the last day of November it was -30.8 C. Today it remained the absolute minimum of the month for Romania.

1966 year

It was the wettest November in 60 years, twice the normal amount.

1969 year

In Iasi in the middle of the month it was +24.3 and in Intorsura Buzăului on the 14th it was +24.2 C. The Intorsura record will be surpassed in 2021.

1988 year

It was the coldest November in 60 years: the national average was -5.2°C below normal.

1989 year

The end of November brought extremely low temperatures: -25.9 °C in Intorsura Buzăului, -19.8 °C in Brasov, -19.6 °C in Tirgu Mures, -19.8 °C in Vlădeasa, -21 °C in Chehlau-Toaka and -19.6 °C in Satu Mare.

1990 year

Intorsura Buzăului had +23.2 C at the beginning of November.

1993 year

The end of the month was unusually cold, peaking at -28.3 C in Josena on 27. November also saw -26.1 C in Mercure-Chuk, -21.1 C in Iasi, -19.4 in Bucharest and -18.2 in Predyal Even in Kalarashi, the layer of snow lasted for more than 10 days and reached 14 cm.

1995 year

In November, a lot of snow fell in the mountains: 140 cm in Om, 90 cm in Predial, 38 cm in Brasov. In Peltinisha, the snow layer reached 94 cm, and in Sibiu – 52 cm.

2001 year

It was +27 degrees in Constanta

2004 year

It was +20 degrees at the Semenik mountain weather station.

2005 year

On November 23, Mercury-Chuk had -20.9°C, which is the lowest temperature measured in the 11th month of this century.

2010 year

Extremely warm November

In Craiova on November 10 it was +25.6°C, and on the 29th it was +24.2 in Calarasi and +23 in Constanta, very high temperatures for the end of November. Calarasi, the place that holds the November temperature record, had a total of 12 days in 2010 with highs above 20 degrees in the 11th month of the year. There were also two extremely warm nights: on November 19, the minimum was +19.2, and the day before – +18.2.

2011 year

There was almost no rain in November: the deviation from the norm was -98%.

2015 year

At the end of November, an extraordinary amount of snow fell in Brasov

2018 year

In Satu Mare at the beginning of November it was +25 C, in Tg Mureș it was +26.6, in Brasov it was +24.6 and on Mount Vlădeasa it was +16.7 C. By Merkur-Chuk it was +23.5 C, and in Ohm it was +12.6 C.

2019 year

That year was the warmest November in 60 years, 5 degrees above normal.

On November 4, the maximum temperature approached +26 degrees in Turnu-Magurele and Zimnicea and was +25 degrees in Calarasi, Oltenica, Alexandria and Bucharest. And the night minimums were completely non-standard: +17 degrees in Oradea, 16 degrees in Sibiu, +15 degrees in Zalau and Brasov, 14 degrees in Baia Mare.

2021 year

It was warmer than usual, and the beginning of the month brought “shirt” weather even in the mountains.

November 5 was one of the warmest days of November. Data published by the ANM indicate highs of +28.9 in Calarasi, +28 in Patarlagele, +27.6 in Fetesh, +27.3 in Adamklis, +26.7 in Titu, +25.6 in Ontorsura-Buzeu and +25.4 in Brasov. Sannicolaou Mare, in the far west of the country, only had a maximum of +11.4C, while Arad also set a new 24-hour rainfall record on the 5th, beating the 1949 record.

With +25.6 C, Intorsura Buzăului, one of the cold poles in the country, exceeded the 1969 record by 1.4 C. Partridges with +28 C “beat” the old record with 1.7 C, an extremely high distance, targeting the pam Remember that records are usually exceeded by less than 0.5 degrees.
