“Inhale” before the next step of the man on the moon – unexpectedly – this NASAwith the new Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, which is in the process of launching at noon on Monday.
However, several obstacles caused a “headache” for NASA engineers and scientists: at first it seemed that the weather conditions would be unfavorable, and later a technical problem arose.
In particular, the rocket of the new Artemis program had a leak in the liquid hydrogen supply system. The problem also arose in one of the four first stage engines currently being tested by mission engineers. The last problem is that ice has formed inside one of the fuel tanks.
The countdown has been put on hold for a while, and while it is now underway, it remains unclear whether NASA will fit within the two-hour launch window that opens at 3:33 pm Greek time.
It is noted that today’s first launch is considered a “dress rehearsal” that will send the Orion capsule, carried by the SLS rocket, into orbit around the moon. There are no astronauts inside the capsule carried by the rocket.
