Employees of Orange Sport, one of the most important sports TV channels in Romania, were notified on Friday by internal e-mail that the channel will be closed starting this summer.
Several sports publications were the first to provide such information (notably Fanatik and iAM Sport), and HotNews.ro sources confirmed the existence of the email and the fact of the closure of Orange Sport.
HotNews.ro sources also state that from July 1, 2024, the channel will no longer exist, and the decision to close the channel belonged to Orange Romania Communications.
The TV station currently broadcasts major competitions such as UEFA Champions League, Super League, Romanian Cup, Ligue 2, Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Liga Portugal.
