Cavan Sullivan signed a contract with Manchester City – the player remains in the USA for another four years

The American U16 player made his professional debut last weekend as part of the MLS Next Pro B Team (considered the third tier in the US after MLS and the USL Championship) against the New England Revolution (2-1), providing an assist.

He will play for Philadelphia until he goes to England when he comes of age. The deal between Manchester City and Philadelphia is believed to be the most lucrative in MLS history, according to sources. It includes numerous performance bonuses and a percentage of resale.

The original deal between the two teams saw Sullivan play for the European City Group side before joining England. The idea was even for him to join the Belgian team Lommel SK when he turned 16. However, further discussions led to the player remaining in Philadelphia until the age of 18 in exchange for compensation in favor of the American club.

Cavan Sullivan will be able to make his MLS debut after officially signing a contract and reuniting with his 20-year-old brother Quinn, a member of the first team. Cavan Sullivan is considered one of the best players in the world of his generation, according to News.ro.

He led the USA to victory at the U15 CONCACAF Cup, where he was named MVP. Aged just 13, he also shone in the GA Cup, an international U15 tournament, helping eliminate Real Madrid and Arsenal en route to the final.
