The new World Open 2024 champion Judd Trump also showed his very good form in the match with Ronnie O’Sullivan: he managed to make the maximum break against the world leader (147 points).

As reported by express.co.uk, it all happened during an exhibition match held in Hong Kong as part of the All-Star Challenge.

The 34-year-old so-called “ace in the deck” made the maximum break against O’Sullivan.

Judd surpassed the mark of 147 points for the ninth time in his career. However, this is not the first time that Trump has celebrated this performance against Ronnie: there is a precedent from the Champion of Champions final in the 2022 edition.

Some fans at the event expressed displeasure with Ronnie’s attitude after his opponent’s special achievement: he did not congratulate him or get up from his chair after Judd closed the table.

In addition, those present had to comment on the price of tickets: from 140 to 342 pounds.

The ranking of the most successful breaks in official competitions is led by Ronnie O’Sullivan: 15 (the last marked in 2018).

1 Ronnie O’Sullivan 15

2 John Higgins 13

3 Stephen Hendry 11

4 Stuart Bingham 9

5 Judd Trump / Sean Murphy 8 etc.

  • With his victory over the weekend, Trump reached five ranking titles won this season: the English Open, the Wuhan Open, the Northern Ireland Open, the German Masters and now the World Open.
  • At the age of 34, Judd Trump holds a world title won at the 2019 tournament.

Next week, O’Sullivan and Trump can be seen at the Tour Championship. The competition will take place from 1st to 7th April at Manchester Central with a total prize fund of £500,000.
